What Does Love Have To Do With it?
A bit of a testimony, as a Reverend for the homeless it’s my duty to love and help others, so when someone tries to give to me it’s hard for me to except anything from anyone. We have been beyond bless to give and help others with monies, food, housing plus one of my favorite things to do and that is to pay for folk’s lunches.
Well yesterday in the Grocery line a gentleman whom lost his dearly beloved wife to Covid, we struck up a conversation and he mentioned his loss of his wife and I mentioned that I have a Ministry for the homeless. Well, he checked out and he kept looking back at me then before I checkout he said here is some money for your Groceries and I said no brother, I am fine and he said no take it, and then what came to me was, when you give you get blessed, and it is also a blessing for your heart. I didn't want him to lose his blessing so I excepted it from him.
Today, more than ever with the hate, division and the long year of Covid and Trump, we see very little giving or of Love. The word says we must love all, not just. the ones we want to like or love. Jesus loved us so much he gave his life for us and that we could have everlasting life. Take that extra step, help a neighbor, give a hug, take someone to the store that has no transportation, pay for a dinner for a stranger. At times many believe it’s hard to live a true Christian life, but may I say it’s the best Life. When you feel the love of God the Father, God the Son, And God the Holy Spirit NOTHING compares, nor is there fear, lack nor death.
“'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. ' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. '
